Out of concern for social activities and strengthening the university’s connection with the community, on Wednesday (February 5, 2025), under the supervision of Professor Sattar Jabbar Haji, Dean of the College of Education, and in the presence of Assoc. Prof. Dr. Jasim Mohammed Abdo, Vice President for Scientific Affairs and Higher Education, along with several heads of scientific departments, psychological counselors, and college instructors, the Psychological Counseling Unit at the College of Education, in coordination with the Department of Physical Education and Sports Sciences, organized a sports activity for a group of children with autism spectrum disorders at the Kani Autism Center in Zakho.

During the visit, various sports activities and games were held for the children. The Vice President of the University expressed his support and readiness to assist in such initiatives. The center’s director thanked the University of Zakho for their cooperation and support.

 

It is worth mentioning that a new Psychological Counseling Unit has been established at the University of Zakho – College of Education, which will soon provide a range of psychological and counseling services to both the university and the wider community.
